Hiya, I'm Cheryl.

I'm the founder of Happy Thoughts Squad and a mum who knows what it’s like to lie awake at 3am worrying if your daughter is OK.

After 22 years of teaching and supporting children through all sorts of ups and downs, and after helping my own daughter navigate anxiety and wobbles in confidence, I realised mums needed more than good intentions - they needed tools that actually fit into real life. So, I created Happy Thoughts Squad: a monthly box packed with simple, fun ways to help girls feel braver, calmer and more sure of themselves - and to help mums feel supported too.

My hope? That through one small box at a time, we build big-hearted girls with fierce minds and brave spirits.

Fighting the confidence crisis

Confidence drops as girls grow up.  According to the Girl Guiding Survey (2024); "6 in 10 girls and young women aged 11-21 are consumed by their own negative thoughts about how they look."

Research shows that 1 in 3 girls and young women aged 7–21 say they don’t feel confident in their appearance - and this only gets worse with age. At ages 7–10, 35% of girls say they lack confidence in how they look. By 17–21, that number rises to 44%.As self-image takes a hit, overall confidence drops too: twice as many young women aged 17–21 say they have no confidence in life compared to those who describe themselves as very confident.

Worryingly, the pressure to look a certain way is only increasing. In 2018, 62% of girls aged 11–21 believed boys expected them to look like the images they see online. By 2024, that figure had risen to 81%. That’s why starting early matters - building resilience, self-worth, and confidence before the pressure piles on.

Because when our girls feel confident, when they believe in themselves, they can move mountains. And that's why we're here, holding their hands, lifting their spirits, and lighting the path ahead with love, support, and endless encouragement. Together, we'll watch them bloom into the strong, resilient, and extraordinary individuals they were always meant to be with kind hearts, fierce minds and a brave spirit.
